Ms. Salina Ali, a renowned business personality and Chairperson of HNASA Management Ltd. and Unique Group has been the key stakeholder behind the success of Unique Group over the past decades. Under her strong leadership and entrepreneurial spirit, the group become one of the leading companies in the country.

Ms. Ali accomplished her Bachelor’s (honors) & Master’s degrees in Sociology from the University of Dhaka. She was born in an aristocratic Muslim family in Bangladesh. Apart from active involvement in the business management she is involved in many social and philanthropic activities. Ms. Ali has travelled extensively across the globe in pursuit of business.

Mohd. Noor Ali

Mr. Mohd Noor Ali is the Managing Director and the founder of Unique Group. He is one of the best-known entrepreneurs in Bangladesh and well recognized among the business community for his responsibility towards the company’s stable strategy. He aggressively broadened the company’s range of strategic business units, and wherever Unique Group has achieved a dominant position he vigorously contributed towards its growth.

Mr. Ali has also been involved in diverse business entities and his most remarkable achievement is he is a self-made person. Today, Mr. Ali is the Managing Director of more than twenty different business concerns. Mr. Ali is a former President of BAIRA, Chairman of Eastern Bank Ltd, as well as Shareholder Directorship of different financial institutions and a number of business bodies. Being a freedom fighter and a philanthropist Mr. Ali’s contribution towards development of the country is truly significant.

Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited

Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited (UMPL) , a 584 MW(net) gas fired combined cycle power plant is under construction in the Meghnaghat region situated in Sonargaon of Narayanganj district of Bangladesh.

The Project will operate on natural gas/Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) and will be based on the combined-cycle technology. The Project will comprise GE’s latest H-Class Gas Turbine (GT) , GE 9HA.01 model, a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) and a Steam Turbine (ST) . The total area of the project will be 18.75 acres and the overall estimated cost of the project is approximately 520 million USD.

The levelized tariff is 3.6923 US Cents/kWh (on Gas, USD 2.4/GJ) and 6.8098 US Cents/kWh (on R-LNG, 7.2625 USD/MMBTU).

UMPL has already initialed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and Implementation Agreement (IA) with Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and Gas Supply Agreement (GSA) with Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (TGTDCL) of Government of Bangladesh.

UMPL has already initialed Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with one of the renowned Contractor, General Electric (GE) Global Services GmbH , a concern of GE Switzerland. Along with this, reputed consultants like Tractebel, Belgium as Owner’s Engineer, AECOM, India as Environmental Consultant and Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) as Financial Adviser have been appointed for the smooth operation of the project.
